Blind Rivets

Blind Rivets are a type of fastener that holds two or more pieces together with the help of a Rivet gun for installation. These are typically used in sheet metal applications. The Blind Rivet is made up of two pieces (Rivet and a Mandrel through the center of the rivet). The Rivet Gun will pull the mandrel back through the rivet and distort the back end to make the rivet hold the material together.

Blind Rivets get their name from the installation because the back end of the rivet is “Blind” to sight. Thus the name.
They come in various materials with a plain finish although are sometimes painted a color by specification when needed. Common body diameters are from 3/32" up to 1/4" in diameter. The grip range is how you determine the length and is standardly from .031" to 1.000". For more information on Blind Rivets see the Fastener Specification Guide link to Blind Rivets.
