Type ABV PosiGrip® Aluminum Panelboard ConnectorsCMC’s PosiGrip aluminum panelboard solderless lugs feature unique ridges on the bottom of their contact surfaces that provide contact points for electrically secure joint of the lowest resistance for better current flow.
The screws used to clamp the conductors are designed to extend beyond the barrel sides of the conductor to provide better, more secure compression of the conductor. This design spreads the conductor strands, dissipating heat and improving pull-out safety features and capabilities.
These panelboard solderless connectors utilize specially-designed wire ways to provide optimum transfer of current. The wire ways form a straight line flow through the connector, creating the path of least possible electrical resistance. A positive wire stop is also provided with each lug.

CMC manufactures these panelboard lugs with one-of-a-kind I-beam bodies and conductor hole configurations, as well as specially designed and treated screws. These features help reduce or eliminate connector failures caused by insufficient clamping force, thermal expansion, and creep.
The I-beam design also provides improved gripping action, allowing the set screws to separate conductor strands and breaking down inner stand oxidation—even on compressed and compact aluminum conductors. This ensures longer connector life, better performance, and greater flexibility, no matter what type of conductor is used.
CMC’s products are thoroughly inspected for proper dimensions, material properties, conductor hole and set screw alignments, and plating consistency, as well as screw and body thread class.
Installing PosiGrip connectors is fast and easy—only a screwdriver or allen wrench are needed. All CMC products are manufactured in North America, UL and CSA listed, and RoHS compliant. These panelboard lugs are certified for use with conductors that have thermal insulation ratings of 90°C or less.
