Pan Head Slotted or Phillips Drive

Slotted Pan heads have a flat or gently rounded surface, cylindrical sides and a flat bearing surface. Phillips and Torx (see Torx Pan head) have a more rounded top, cylindrical sides and a flat bearing surface. Commonly used with various combination's in Machine, Self-Tapping, Thread-cutting, Self-Drilling, Thread-Forming and Wood screws.

The Pan head has a general purpose bearing area. It can be substituted in most common applications for Round, Truss or binding heads.
