Chain Attachments

There are many items used with chain. Grab Hooks help to shorten or hold a specific length of chain. Designed with a narrow-grabbing throat engaging the chain between the links for safe, non-slip handling.

Slip hooks are very versatile because of their full, wide throat. They are commonly used on chain slings. They can easily be hooked up to a shackle, eyes or chain tied loads.

Clevis end hooks or grab and slip hooks with a clevis end connection, helps to permit a rapid attachment and/or removal from chain. A pin with a cotter pin installed is easily removed from the hook.

Hooks should be ordered according to the size chain on which they are to be used. High test hooks - Forged carbon steel, that is also heat treated and plated with a bright zinc finish is for use with Proof Coil chain (Gr. 30) and (Gr. 40) High-Test chain. Forged Alloy Steel hooks, are also heat treated which are plated with yellow dichromate. These are made to work with Transport (Gr. 70) and Alloy (Gr. 80) chain.
