A Cone Locknut is a nut with locking ability. Other locking nuts might use a lock washer, nylon material or other means to lock the male threads in place. Cone-Lock nuts have threads that are purposely deformed which will cause somewhat of an interference. This causes the lock to not vibrate loose. They are not temperature or chemically limited in their applications.
